2011 Preview
The year has gotten off to a slower start than I would have liked, but we're back on track and some of the books that we're putting out this year are definitively the best work I've done so far. So with that, here's the latest on the current titles:
Tomorrowville - the second issue is out 2/28 and it packs a punch. It's one year later and as the year comes to a close, President Ryan and Belarus are about to make their move on each other. The ending is a shocker. And starting with issue #3, our resident superhero, Zeppelin Ghost joins the Tomorrowville team!
Zeppelin Ghost - the origin story continues as we learn more about the original ZG and why Astra thinks Chase is the new ZG. These books are in the bag, so they'll be digital downloads over the next couple months through issue #4. Look for more ZG-related stories this year as we expand the ZG/Tomorrowville universe, or Galaxyverse.
SeaFright - this is a new title featuring a nuclear submarine and its crew as they explore the ocean and act as defenders of the sea against an undersea colonization gone awry. In the spirit of seaQuest and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (we pay tribute), the first three issues are collected in a prestige format paperback available later this year. New issues will likely be digital downloads.
Life After Zombies - the pilot issue of LAZ was out for a few months last year, but has been retooled a bit. Set in the late 60's, the series follows the suburban Spencer family after a 'big event' causes the deceased to reanimate seeking flesh. But unlike most other zombie stories, the world doesn't go to hell and life goes on. This horror/drama will take on issues timely in the 60's and some still timely today. Issues 1 and 2 will be available for purchase in a printed format later this spring.
End Trails - this series is a collaboration with Slasher Design and blends the worlds of horror, supernatural and superheroes (yes, you read that right) into a quirky, gritty comic series. Exclusive previews are up now with the full printed issue available later this spring.
Galaxy Tales - the anthology series continues with a new issue out now, featuring a space/military story that looks at humans vs. aliens. Then, our next book will be a Twilight Zone-esque tale that features a 1950's-style alien invasion.
Mr. Hand - our first title to get an Annual, the special issue will take a look at the 'real world' Mr. Hand and explore his origins in relation to the comic version we've seen so far. Then, in the ongoing, Mr. Hand meets fellow crimefighter Red Squirrel!
Venus and Startank Fortress are on hiatus for the time being.
This House is Haunted: The Complete Horror Collection will be available to purchase later this spring.
Sherlock ended its 5 year run last year, but all 9 issues are available to read online. The extra long series finale alone is worth a read. We're considering a complete series digital collection at some point, but don't have any plans to print any of the issues right now.
And lastly, I've started work on the long awaited series Goldilocks, the first issue of which will be out later this year.
Previews of all titles are available online right now. Enjoy!
